Mitch Welling 

Mitch Welling is a multi-talented artist who has made a name for himself as a musician, poet, photographer, blogger, and podcaster. However, what many people may not know is that he has struggled with agoraphobia, the fear of open and public places for most of his life. Welling’s agoraphobia has had a significant impact on his life as an artist. He has often found it difficult to perform live shows or even leave his house to collaborate with other artists. This has led him to focus simply on creating music in the comfort of his own home, where he feels safe and secure. As a result, his music has a more introspective and contemplative quality, reflecting his inner struggles and emotions.

Through his struggles with agoraphobia, Welling has found a deep passion for music. He started playing the guitar at a young age and began writing his own songs shortly after. In the book mage Music and Text Barthes states that; "The more technology develops the diffusion of information (and notably of images), the more it provides the means of masking the constructed meaning under the appearance of the given meaning.”  Wellings existence and success on the internet disproves Barthes statement. He gained popularity due to the raw honesty present in his art, and the translucency of many of his creative processes, makes it easy to see the true given meaning in his music.
